Japan Lifeline Co., Ltd. (“JLL") may collect and process Personal Data. This Privacy Statement (this “Privacy Statement”) applies to the processing of Personal Data concerning the data subject in the European Economic Area (“EEA”) in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”).

  1. Personal Data
  2. In this Privacy Statement, Personal Data means any data relating to an identified or identifiable natural person (“Personal Data”). JLL may acquire and process Personal Data, which includes the name, address, telephone number, FAX number, e-mail address, payment information, and passport number of a natural person in the EEA.

  3. Use of Personal Data
  4. JLL acquires and processes Personal Data for the following purposes:

    • Communication and implementation of measures which are necessary for the manufacture, development, research, sale, import, export, maintenance, repair, rental, etc. of medical devices (including but not limited to, half finished products, components and materials of medical devices)
    • Development and sale of computer software
    • Information handling service and information providing service
    • Rent and management of real estate
    • Communication and implementation of measures which are necessary for business management
    • Communication and implementation of measures which are necessary for corporate public relations, such as responding to inquiries
    • Communication and implementation of measures which are necessary for defense of corporate interests
    • Communication between JLL and general tax agents
    • Managing customer relationships
    • Resolving customer and/or product and service issues

    JLL will process Personal Data on the following legal grounds.

      Consent

    • we may (but usually do not) need your consent to use your personal information. Data subjects may withdraw their consent to this processing at any time. However, this will not affect the lawfulness of any processing carried out before withdrawal of the consent.
    • Performance of a contract

    • we may need to collect and use your personal information to enter into a contract with you or to perform our obligations under a contract with you.
    • Legitimate interest

    • we may use your personal information for our legitimate interests.
    • Compliance with law or regulation

    • we may use your personal information as necessary to comply with applicable law/regulation.

  6. JLL may supply or disclose Personal Data to JLL’s group companies and other third parties that are JLL's service assignees without prior consent by data subjects. JLL may also supply or disclose Personal Data to third parties when it is necessary for some other justifiable reason permitted by law and/or regulations.

  7. Cross Border Transfer
  8. Personal Data may be transferred to entities in countries or jurisdictions outside the EEA such as Japan. Please note that such countries or jurisdictions may not have the same data protection laws as the EEA and would not afford the same rights conferred upon data subjects in the EEA.

  9. Retention of Personal Data
  10. JLL will retain Personal Data for the period necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Statement, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.

  11. Right of Data Subjects
  12. Data subjects have the right to access, request for correction, request for deletion, request to limit the processing, object to the processing, and request for data portability, with regards to their Personal Data retained by the JLL. When JLL receives a request based on the right specified above, JLL shall conduct any necessary investigation without delay and provide data subjects or a nominated third party with Personal Data or respond to such request without delay. Provided, however, that in the event that such requests determinably lack supporting grounds, JLL might charge reasonable fee on data subjects or reject such requests with making the grounds for such rejection clear.

    In the event that JLL receive the requests listed above from a data subject, JLL may confirm the identity of such data subject, and demand additional information from such data subject for proof of its identity.

  13. Right to Complain with Data Protection Authority
  14. Data subjects have the right to lodge a complaint with the local data protection authority if they have complain regarding JLL’s processing of their Personal Data.
