Embodies Our Values Through the Code of Conduct

With regard to sustainability, we believe it is important to first define the values that serves as the foundation for all employees to promote company-wide efforts. Accordingly, we have overhauled our "Code of Conduct", building upon our former compliance framework.

At the heart of this Code of Conduct is simple yet profound phrase: “I’m glad”. We aim to instill these values within the organization and put them into practice in our daily operations. Our goal is to ensure that all stakeholders–including medical professionals (our direct customers), patients, business partners, local residents, shareholders, and employees–feel “glad they chose Japan Lifeline”.

Advancing Our Seven Materialities

JLL has identified seven materialities as key sustainability themes.

We have designated “Social issue resolution through innovative medical devices” as the primary challenge to be addressed through our business operations. Additionally, we have identified the following six issues to strengthen our business foundation based on an the ESG framework:

  • - Environmental impact reduction
  • - Diverse talent workplace creation
  • - Corporate competitiveness enhancement through talent development
  • - Product quality assurance and supply systems enhancement
  • - Digitalization advancement
  • - Governance enhancement

Currently, initiatives for each of these material issues are progressing steadily.

To "Social issue resolution through innovative medical devices," we are pursuing specific measures such as expanding our patent portfolio to ensure a sustainable competitive advantage and developing products that alleviate the workload of medical professionals.

In tandem, to "Corporate competitiveness enhancement through talent development," we have launched a new selective training program aimed at the early development of management personnel and next-generation leaders who will underpin our sustainable growth. Furthermore, to drive global expansion—a top priority in our mid-to-long-term strategy—we are accelerating the company-wide development of next-generation professionals by providing practical training international success.

Message for Our Stakeholders

We will continue to refine our unique business model and take on challenges in both domestic and international markets. As a company dedicated to the medical device industry, we believe that simply providing superior products and pursuing economic value is not enough.

We will constantly ask ourselves what medical devices are truly useful and necessary for society, considering the perspectives of medical professionals, patients, and healthcare economics. By contributing to our Mission of realizing a healthier society through cutting-edge medical technologies, we aim to increase both our social and corporate value.
